The year 2015 has almost come to an end, and we still have not received anything ‘official’ about the much anticipated Xiaomi Flagship, Xiaomi Mi5. The smartphone though has been subjected to numerous leaks and rumors, but we cannot tell for sure about which among these are trustworthy and which is not but that does not keep us from checking these leaks and rumors out and getting more excited about the Xiaomi Mi5.

The latest leaks provide us some claimed live images of the Xiaomi Mi5 and with that some information about the specs and expected price of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5. The most recent leaks also depict the patent application from Xiaomi for a fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Mi5 Leak: Xiaomi Mi5 Specs, Live Images, Render Leak

These live images were posted by a user on Weibo, but they were later taken down. The design of the Mi5 in the recently leaked live images fall in line with the renders of the Mi5 that leaked earlier to the live photos. The render as well as the live photos shows the inclusion of a physical home button under the display on the front. This will most probably house the fingerprint scanner and going by the reports, the fingerprint scanner on the Mi5 will be the smallest and the fastest fingerprint sensor available in the market.

Looking deeper into the pictures we find that the display of the Xiaomi Mi5 will feature a 2.5D glass that will sport a slight curve on the side. At the bottom, the smartphone is showed to feature a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The port has thin antenna bands and speaker grills on both sides of the smartphone.

The images of the patent application for the fingerprint sensor hint that the fingerprint sensor might be embedded in the display of the smartphone. But the images of the smartphone show no home button therefore we will probably have to wait to see this technology in the Xiaomi Flagship smartphone. All these can still not be confirmed completely, as these are still leaks, but we approach closer to the launch of the smartphone we will get more trustworthy leaks and we will get them to you. So, stay in touch.
