While there has not been any announcement about the much awaited next Xiaomi smartphone, Xiaomi Mi5 instead the Chinese smartphone maker have been releasing different spaced out versions of its previous flagship Mi4 in the form of Xiaomi Mi4i and the Mi4c. These smartphones did well too, but the excitement of the Xiaomi has been increasing as Xiaomi has broken the one year format of flagship devices.
What now comes as a surprise is that the Xiaomi Mi5 might have till now been living a secret life under the name of Xiaomi Gemini and this has been brought to light by a recent Geekbench listing.
Xiaomi Mi5 Codenamed Gemini: Here are the Specification you Can Expect
Recently on the Geekbench browser benchmark, the Gemini codenamed smartphone from Xiaomi has been spotted and the thanks to this benchmark listing we also get some details about the Xiaomi Gemini (or the Xiaomi Mi5), which we will discuss later in the article.
The Xiaomi Mi5 has been parts of numerous leaks and estimated Xiaomi Mi5 launch dates, but nothing among these turned out to be firm. There initial leaks about the Xiaomi Mi5 included that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon’s 820 processor and if these benchmark listings are to go by, the phone will in fact, feature the recently unveiled Snapdragon 820 chipset.
This latest leak claimed that Xiaomi might unveil the Mi5 on December 3rd but as Qualcomm while unveiling the Snapdragon 820 chipset said that the new processors will be seen inside the phones only next year, the Xiaomi Mi5 or the Gemini can only hit stores next year. The other details leaked by the benchmark listing is that the phone will run the latest Android v6.0 Marshmallow and will have a good 3GB of RAM.
The benchmark listings do point to the fact that the Xiaomi Mi5 no matter, when it comes will have some very impressive hardware inside the hood. The phone scores a whopping 2,140 in the single core test, it is worthy to note that Qualcomm’s previous Snapdragon 810 processor scored around the 1,300. The Exynos chipsets from Samsung which are in the present Samsung flagships comes around 1,500 points, but surprisingly the Snapdragon 820 chipset cannot outdo the Apple A9 chip in the single core scores which hit the 2,500 mark.
Multi-core numbers are perhaps not as impressive, as the Gemini is outclassed by the Galaxy S6 generation, which can all push upwards of 5,000.
Other than the Xiaomi Gemini aka Mi5 the Geekbench Browser has also provided information about the Mi Pad 2 and Redmi Note 2. These reports attest that the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 will probably come with quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor clocking a speed of 2.24GHz and have 2GB of RAM and will run the Android v5.1 Lollipop.
On the other hand the Redmi Note 2 Pro had its specs out by getting listed on TENAA, according to this, the Redmi Note 2 Pro will have a full HD 5.5 inch display and it will be powered by the Mediatek’s MT6795 Helio X10 processor that will be coupled with a 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. It will have a 13 MP Primary camera and a 5 Mp secondary camera. It will come running the Android v5.0 Lollipop and have a 3060mAh battery.
