Huawei Honor 5X Launched, Fingerprint Scanner, 3GB RAM


The online only brand of the Chinese smartphone maker Huawei, Honor has yet again come up with one more smartphone – the Honor 5X. The phone featuring a fingerprint scanner and 3GB RAM has been launched in China and it will be available for a price of 1399 Yuan (14,300 INR approx.) for the 3 GB RAM variant and the 2GB RAM variant, will be available for 999 Yuan (10,200 INR approx). The Honor 5X will start shipping from November 3 in China and will be available in Silver and Sunset Gold color options.

The Honor Play 5X measures just 8.15mm thick, and it weighs 158 gms. On the back the smartphone features a fingerprint sensor. On the front, the Play 5X sports a 5.5-inch IPS display that has a resolution of 1080p.

The Honor Play 5X smartphone is run by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor that is clocked at 1.5GHz. With this the phone also houses the Adreno 405 GPU. In the RAM department the phone comes in two options – one with 3GB of RAM, and other has 2GB of RAM. The Honor Play 5X offers 16GB of internal storage and it is expandable via a microSD card upto 128GB. It comes with dual SIM support.

The smartphone that is also known as the Huawei Glory Play 5X runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and on top of that it has the EMUI 3.1 custom ROM.


In the camera department the Honor Play 5X sports a 13MP camera on the back that is supported by an LED flash, and on the front it has a 5MP shooter. The Honor Play 5X is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery. The battery supports Quick Charge 3.0, that is claimed to charge the device up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes of charging.
