Gionee Launches F103, Gionee F103 Made in India, First Impressions, Review


Gionee F103 Made in India: Gionee yesterday unveiled its first Made in India Smartphone the Gionee F103. The Chinese Smartphone manufacturer, Gionee had launched the F103 originally in Chinalast month in September and now the F103 has started been assembled at the Sri City plant of Foxconn in Andhra Pradesh. The India build Gionee F103 will not just be sold in India but in other South Asian and other African countries too.

William Lu, the President of Gionee said speaking to the press, “We are very excited to have begun out India manufacturing. We are very excited to have begun out India manufacturing. We would be working towards making India manufacturing a hub for not only India, but nearly countries too.”


Gionee Launches the F103, Gionee F103 “Made in India” Phone:

The ‘F’ in the F103 stands for ‘Fashion’, and the device is targeted at the young Smartphone users in India. The Gionee F103 is presently priced at Rs. 9999 that is $155 or £100 (approx).

Gionee describes their new device as having a premium design with the added advantage of metal build. The Gionee F103 is said to be a combination of both design and performance, which will provide its users the best from both worlds.

Gionee has always been known to produce sleek, good looking Smartphones the new Gionee F103 carries forward carries forward the same trend. The sides of the F103 feature a golden metal rim that runs around the body of the F103. Gionee has stayed with capacitive touch buttons below the screen instead of the on-screen buttons. The Volume Rocker buttons and the Power button are positioned on the right side of the phone in the metal frame.

The Front of the Made in India Gionee F103 sports a 5 inch IPS display that has a resolution of 1280X720 pixels. This pretty display is protected by a Dragontrail glass.


The Gionee F103 is powered by a 1.3 GHz, quad-core, Mediatek MT 6735 processor and that is coupled with 2GB of RAM and has an internal storage of 16GB of built-in storage, which is expandable to 32GB.

The Gionee F103 runs the Amigo OS 3.0 skin over the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The in-house skin of Gionee looks simple and smooth and has an attractive UI.

Coming to the camera department, the Gionee F103 sports an 8MP camera with auto-focus on the back and a 5 MP sensor for clicking selfies on the front.

The Phone is powered by a 2400 mAh battery which won’t give you a happy experience if you are a heavy user but with average usage the phone might stay with you for a full day.

At the announcement, William Lu also announced that Giones’s will soon be launching wearables in the market and that will be available in India too.
